Tips for living healthy life after Liver Transplant?

Having the guts to transplant your liver to save someone else’s life is not very common these days! It is not just about saving a life, but it is way beyond than this; you make the other person feel happier, safer and healthier. You bless him with a new life, which is not an everyday task.

Here comes a warning! If you are donating your liver, you need to keep in mind few precautions that should be followed for your own wellbeing and physical fitness. Below are the tips that needs to be kept in mind by every single person who has engaged himself or herself in liver transplant in India.

  • Do not try out heavy lifting at all after the transplant

First, you will not be able to lift heavy things on your own. And, secondly you should not even try doing so. Because, if you do this, there is a high probability of suffering from hernia because of heavy lifting.

  • Enhance your consumption of water

You will be able to deal with the issue of constipation in a better manner if you drink a lot of water on regular basis. Make sure you follow a proper diet chart once your surgery is done.

  • Some physical exercise is not bad!

It is not mandatory and depends from person to person. You can go for some physical exercises once or twice a week if you are comfortable. If you find it tiring or over exerting yourself, please do not force yourself into the same. It may be harmful for your body.

  • Balanced diet

Balanced diet is necessary for a speedy and efficient recovery of the patient. Liver transplant is not an easy process and makes the person feel weak and tired. Consuming a diet full of nutrients and proteins will be beneficial.
